It seems like there is no end to the number of attractions in Western North Carolina. These are just a few of our favorites.

Biltmore Estate, Gardens & Winery (31 miles)
This 250-room chalet built by George Vanderbilt in 1895 is full of artwork and antiques. Restaurants, gardens, winery and shops are part of the 8,000-acre estate.

Chimney Rock Park (23 miles)
An elevator ride takes you up 26 stories through and to the top of the chimney for 75-mile views, 1,000-acres of trails, waterfalls and wildflowers.

Connemara (5.5 miles)
Connemara was the home of poet, historian, author and Pulitzer Prize winner Carl Sandburg. The barn still houses members of his original goat herd.

The Blue Ridge Parkway
America’s most scenic highway hugs mile-high mountainsides elevated above a patchwork of villages, forests and farms. Frequent overlooks offer fantastic views.

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park
America’s most visited park contains 700 miles of rivers, 800 miles of trails, 20,000 acres of virgin forest, over 1,600 varieties of wildflowers and an abundance of wildlife.

Flat Rock Playhouse (5 miles)
The State Theatre of North Carolina, the Flat Rock Playhouse attracts actors from Broadway, television and film. It has offered performances to sold-out crowds for more than 50 years.

Diana Wortham Theatre
The Diana Wortham Theatre offers live performances of music, theatre and dance throughout the year by nationally touring artists as well as a wide array of performances by professional and avocational regional arts groups.

Brevard Music Center (20 miles)
The Brevard Music Center is home of the South’s most exciting classical music festival and events ranging from opera and symphony to Broadway and Pop.

Pisgah National Forest
An 11-mile stretch of US 276 includes campsites, picnic sites, tubing, Pisgah Center, Sliding Rock, Looking Glass Falls, Pink Beds and the Cradle of Forestry.

Asheville, North Carolina (30 miles)
This city of approximately 70,000 features nightclubs, galleries, grand resorts, restaurants, shops, theatres and much more.

Greenville, South Carolina (43 miles)
